"We could not have asked for a more perfect wedding venue. It rained for the entire week leading up to our wedding, but we weren't worried as the interior of the manor is so beautiful and spacious that the whole day could have taken place indoors with no feeling of compromise. However, we were lucky enough to have the most gorgeous sunny day which meant that we could make the most of the amazing grounds. The children all loved running around on the lawns, while the adults admired the fabulous views. Olivia and Matt were both wonderful at every stage of our planning, making suggestions and catering for our every want and need with seemingly unending patience. On the day, Matt worked tirelessly to ensure that everything went smoothly - nothing for us or any of our guests was too much trouble. Manuel's food was first class, every mouthful that we ate was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Amy behind the bar simply couldn't do enough for us... in fact, every single member of staff was absolutely lovely! We really felt that the manor was ours for the weekend so we felt totally comfortable and relaxed the whole time. The guest rooms are fantastic - everyone was delighted with their accommodation. The bridal suite is a lovely place to get ready in the morning, looking out over the countryside. The whole place feels really luxurious and very romantic, which makes it perfect for weddings. Thank you so much to everyone at Old Down who made our wedding day even better than we had ever imagined. Our guests were blown away by the manor house and food and haven't stopped talking about it since! We will be recommending Old Down Manor to everyone we see as a truly unforgettable wedding venue. Vlad's attention to detail was superb and his staff were most efficient and friendly and ensured that all my guests had a terrific time. The food was wonderful and received glowing comments from all. My sister and niece who stayed at the Manor overnight also found the whole experience very satisfying and have indicated that it's a shame that Old Down Manor is not an hotel - because they would love to be able to stay when in the area. Everyone was most impressed by the venue itself and I can confidently predict that some business for the Manor will result." Sorry this is a bit late but we wanted to say an enormous thank you for making our wedding the best day of our lives on the 25th May 2012. The manor and the grounds are absolutely stunning and all the staff made us feel completely relaxed. We completely fell on our feet by having the most glorious sunshine on the day meaning we could enjoy socialising outside playing giant connect four, drinking Pimms and being wowed by Darren Campbell the magician! Many of us stayed at the manor the night before the wedding and we were made to feel so comfortable that it felt like ours for the whole weekend (wishful thinking!). Olivia and Matt especially helped the day run so smoothly and everyone commented on how great and helpful the staff were (they even helped to serve our food - that is dedication for you). My step-mum was particularly grateful for the help in finding a last minute cake stand and my mum was also particularly grateful for the help in finding an iron! Nothing like those last minute stresses that Matt and Olivia smoothed over in an instant. Everyone commented on how much they enjoyed the laid back feel to the day even though we were in the most luxurious of settings. We received many comments saying that it was the best wedding they had ever been too (we being very biased would have to agree!). The food was devine - totally recommend the lemon tart with the raspberry sauce that crackles in your mouth! The only bad thing about the day? That I foolishly wanted to show off the bridal suite to my friends, left the door unlocked to find at the end of the night the entire bed (inside and out) had been covered in confetti. So sorry about that! I would 100% recommend this venue to bride and grooms to be."
